9/13 – Ralph Lauren’s Spring collection was inspiration North Africa. The beginning of his collection the pieces were all safari with parachute pants, Federos, olive green, khakis, and gold hues. The accessories were huge shoulder bags with matching belts. The middle of the collection the colors became softer with a hint of brown. The pieces become more sophisticated with pant suits that appeared in white and cream. Towards the end of the collection Ralph stepped it up a couple of notches. There were all black evening gowns and cocktail dresses that looked stunning on the runway. He ended his collection with one of his signature colors a gold halter top evening gown.
Ralph Lauren is my favorite designer because he knows his customer , he is his customer. I believe Ralph as a designer and I believe that he loves what he does. This collection was flawless, there was a detailed story line which some designer forget to do.
I rate this show: 9.5/10
I couldn’t get photos of the Baby Phat Spring Collection, I hope the video will do for now.
9/13 – Donna Karan Spring Collection was sexy, feminine, and chic. She used fabric that cuddled the body and showed off all the right womanly features. The collection consisted of loosely draped dresses, with long spits, wrapping around the hips, and short sexy dresses. The fabric choices were silk, satin jersey, and cotton. The color way was earth tones with a hint of blue. The collection consisted of mainly dresses with a few boxy jackets and satin jersey pants. Donna said the collection was, “Liquid Assets”.
Overall this collection was pretty strong. It wasn’t her best work but it was beautiful pleasing to the eye and she proved that still got it!

9/11- Vera Wang showed us a side we have never seen for her Spring collection. Her collection was inspired by proto-pop French artist Niki de Saint Phalle. There were still familiar aspects of Vera with three-dimensional dresses, organza, and chiffon. Vera is known for gowns this collection was limited to only 2. The popular hues were olive green, beige, black, and white. Her fabric choices were silk, chiffon, and organza.
I enjoyed this collection from Vera, it was nice to see a different aspect of her. Overall this collection was strong.

9/10 – Oscar’s Spring Collection started strong with a belted swimsuit and proceeded with his signature pieces. Some of his fabric choices were eyelet, lace, silk faille, and brocade. The popular hues of this collection were a beautiful beige, navy blue, white, and black.
I absolutely loved his dresses, Oscar is known for superb dress designs. He had a couple of pantsuits that was pleasing to the eye. I also loved the asymmetrical hems of some his skirts and tops. His floral prints dressed popped with the simplistic design. There were great accessories such as multi-link necklaces, broaches, and stacked bracelets. Overall Oscar’s collection was pretty strong.
I rate this show: 8.5/10
9/10 – Micheal Kors graced our presents another year from under the Byrant Park tent. Love him or hate him, he keeps bringing it every year. Micheal’s inspiration seemed to be the president race with hues of blue, red, and white with a hint of black, yellow and white. His main print choices were polka dot, stripes, and gingham. His fabric choice were mainly knits and cottons.
Overall Micheal’s collection was strong. I enjoyed the stripes and gingham used for the skirts and dresses. I also loved that he used belts for most of his piece which looked extremely feminine. I can definitely see Michelle Obama wearing some of the pieces from this collection.
