9/13 – Donna Karan Spring Collection was sexy, feminine, and chic. She used fabric that cuddled the body and showed off all the right womanly features. 9/11- Vera Wang showed us a side we have never seen for her Spring collection. Her collection was inspired by proto-pop French artist Niki de Saint Phalle. His floral prints dressed popped with the simplistic design. There were great accessories such as multi-link necklaces, broaches, and stacked bracelets.  Overall Oscar’s collection was pretty strong.

9/10 – Micheal Kors graced our presents another year from under the Byrant Park tent. Love him or hate him, he keeps bringing it every year. Micheal’s inspiration seemed to be the president race with hues of blue, red, and white with a hint of black, yellow and white. His main print choices were polka dot, stripes, and gingham. His fabric choice were mainly knits and cottons.

Overall Micheal’s collection was strong. I enjoyed the stripes and gingham used for the skirts and dresses. I also loved that he used belts for most of his piece which looked extremely feminine. I can definitely see Michelle Obama wearing some of the pieces from this collection.

9/8 – I read an article from Nicole Phelps and she describe the collection as Mary Poppins meets Dubai. Marc is an individual he may have a trend here and there but he designs want he feels. Fashion is about designing what you feel in your heart and soul. Marc never strays from what’s in his heart.

The popular hues were emerald green, navy blue, coral, yellow, tints and tones of black. He’s fabric choice was leather, silk, metallic tweed, knit, and cotton. I loved his print choices of plaid, stripe and floral.

I enjoyed Marc’s Spring collection. He is always refreshing and takes fashion to a whole new level. I also loved he’s accessories… I really want those shoes.

9/8 – I absolutely adore Isaac Mizrahi designs for Target, I’m so sad that it will end next season. From the beginning of this collection my eyes were drawn to the vibrant colors and great fabric choices. His eye for details are superb.

On thing that I love about men designers is that they can easily combine women and mens fashion; and make appear effortless. Isaac had a woman tuxedo (shown above) that his creativity. Some of his pieces seemed to be inspired by Indian culture. The popular hues of this collection was cream, green, orange, magenta, tints and tones of black. His fabric choices were chintz, silk, and lacy crochet. He also used a orange and green print.

Overall Isaac Mizrahi Spring collection was very strong. He is definitely proving all the critics wrong.

9/7 – When asked about her collection Tracy said it was, “It’s a Spring awakening.” It definitely was, her collection was vibrant in all spectrums. She started with muted hues beige, white, and cream. As the collection progressed it became saturated in orange, blue, red, and purple. Her fabric choice was silk, eyelet, lace, and chiffon.

The collection has some strong piece like a floral trench coat, purple chiffon dress (seen above), red lace dress, (seen above), and floral print dresses. But like the previous collection I foresee some of the same trends from Fall trickling down to Spring.

8 Sep

9/7 – Herve Leger is known for his sexy, form fitting dresses and he didn’t stray from that concept. He had such an impact on fashion that women will definitely gravitate to his Spring collection. He improved his designs by adding cutout in the dresses and using the same details in his swim wear.

The popular hues are gray, red, neon’s, black, and white. He’s bathing suit are definitely for women who have to close to a perfect body and the swim wear like they aren’t suitable  for  water; just to look good in or photo shots.

9/7 – Diane von Furstenberg called her spring collection “Rock Goddess“. The models wore silk flowers and feathers strung from leather cords that followed loose in their hair.

This collection has vibrant hues in each piece (magenta, green, red, and splash of orange). The popular fabric was lace, silk and embroidery. The collection had a hippy (60’s) feel, with long flowy dresses. I felt as if Diane’s Spring collection was a continuation of all the trends of Fall.

Diane Von Furstenberg collection was okay; i didn’t get the wow factor like I’ve gotten in her previous collections.
