Ms. Janet Jackson has decided to partner with Australian fashion designer, Bruno Schiavi to create a lingerie line entitled Pleasure Principal. The collection was inspired by her 1987 hit “Pleasure Principal”.
“The collection has been carefully created with some of the finest laces from around the world,” Jackson said. “You will see a lot of satin and lace combined and rich colors…It makes you feel incredible and offers variety as diverse as the women who will wear it.”
“Janet and I wanted to create a collection that empowers women and that makes women feel sexy, flirtatious and provocative,” Schiavi added.
The first collection of Pleasure Principle offers 14 designs across a combination of bra styles from balconettes, demi cups to full coverage. Sizes will range from 32A to 44G. The lingerie line is suppose to debut in America in November 2008 and in Australia, Japan, and Europe later on.

Peter Som has resigned as creative director of Bill Blass, its only be a year. Peter has decided to cancel the September fashion week show in Bryant Park, due to financial problems. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Som.
The designer label has been on the selling block for months, prompted in part by angry shareholders at its cash-strapped parent company NexCen Brands Inc. Bill Blass executives have been trying to persuade Som to delay his departure for fear the negative publicity would be detrimental to any potential financial suitors.

Vogue Italy has gone ALL black!!! Vogue is the biggest fashion magazine in the world and one of the first. The magazine will be the first to have all black models throughout the July 2008 issue. The photographer of the issue is Steven Meisel. He is considered one of the most successful fashion photographers in the industry, shooting regularly for both US and Italian Vogue and lately W.
There will be 4 different covers (as seen above) which include Liya Kebede, Sessilee Lopez, Jordan Dunn, and Naomi Campbell. There are a couple of familiar faces inside that Tyra Banks, Toccora Jones (ANTM), and Chanel Iman to name a few.
I say it’s about damn time!!! Black is beautiful and so is fashion. Fashion shouldn’t be about skin color it should be about the clothes But it seems that the color card is always being played. I love the idea that Vogue will have an all black issue as this inspires me as a future fashion designer; It makes to want to do something great.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF VOGUE GOING BLACK???
