Mary-Kate and Ashley already have a high-end clothing line “The Row” The Row’s $655 floor-length Modal cardigans and $875 banded strapless dresses are extremely too expensive. The Olsen twins announced yesturday that they are working on a more affordable contemporary sportswear line called Elizabeth and James, named for the other Olsen siblings. “We wanted it to be based on a relationship between a young girl and a boy and tell the story through the clothing,” Mary-Kate Olsen told Women’s Wear Daily.
Influenced by Mary-Kate’s own vintage collection, the line will be designed in collaboration with the designers of Seven For All Mankind and LaRok. The more affordable line ranges from $40 t-shirts to $450 coats and will be in stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Intermix this Fall. Expect washed leather jackets, supersoft shrunken T-shirts, pencil skirts, cashmere sweaters, chunky knit swing jackets, fur jackets, silk dresses and sequin mini-dresses.
I wasn’t interested in “The Row” because it’s too expensive and they definatly don’t design any for plus size. Will be purchasing the Oslen twins new line.
