BEAUTIFUL PLUS SIZE MODELS

What is plus size modeling?

Plus-size modeling promotes ‘real’ body shapes that encompass every aspect of the modeling industry, from fashion shoots and major campaigns promoting products on skin care, make-up and hair products to lingerie and swimsuits.

Natalie Laughlin

Natalie Laughlin was the first plus size model to have five consecutive billboards in Times Square(NYC).
W magazine called her one of “…the brightest stars..”, and The Wall Street Journal says “…people in the industry say the brown-eyed, 5-foot-9 model, size 12-to-14, is at the top of her game.”

Crystal Renn

Crystal Renn learned the hard way that she can have curves and a career in modeling. She is one of the United States most successful up and coming commercial models working exclusively for Ford Models, New York. The pages of Vogue have framed her image a minimum of six times and she’s strutted her stuff on the runway for high fashions designers like Jean Paul Gaulteir. She’s also regularly decorates the fashion pages of Lane Bryant, Torrid, Dolce & Gabbana and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Mia Tyler

Mia Tyler is the daughter of famed rocker Steven Tyler and half-sister of actress Liv Tyler. Mia is nevertheless famous in her own right. She’s made a name for herself as a plus-size model and inspiration to many girls curvy girls.

BaRBARA BRICKNER

Barbara Brickner is arguably one of the most famous plus-size models in the world. With countless campaigns, magazine covers and even a calendar to her credit, the model with the famous smile has a career that shows no sign of slowing.

MARIANNA KRYSTEW
Source

Twenty seven year old Marianna Krystew is determined to bring plus size modeling to new heights over seas. Her persistence led her to begin building her book while shooting with some fabulous photographers. Armed with amazing pictures she looked for representation in London where she was well received. Now two years later she continues to work as a stylist and model.

There are a couple more “Plus size” models I could of meant. But there aren’t that many, I’m just happy that effort is out there. Just because we see size 2 all of the place doesn’t mean that how we’re suppose to look. ***In all actuality the average size women is a size 14. As women we need to find where we are comfortable at and say there!!!

Truly Curvaceous 😉

Hey, since I stumbled into here I might as well add my comments! I’m speechless actually! Real beauty! I feel so much better about myself. I’m a size 12 and sometimes I got 14 some a little less but I used to have this nagging though in the back of my mind, that I was supposed to loose weight. Not too much but enough to make me not feel completely happy with myself. I’m OK but going through these gorgeous pics and seeing what normal people think (so I’m not alone! :)) all my problems dissapeared. Thanks!

Wow!!! I am realy proud to be a plus size now I use to ask myself when it would be back in style for women to have curves and full figures that are sensual and sexy not bony and stick like. I know I don’t just speak for myself when I say Yeah! Bring on voluptuous! We are gorgeous and certainly a plus to beautiful women. I am feel so much better about myself now, Thanks! 😉

Am a plus size girl , and before I really hated myself , because I did not fit into what was cute and in , but somehow by the grace of God I started loving myself more than ever , because women , real women come in different shape and size , and so what if am curvy !
This is the way that God made me and am here to stay , and shine and get what is mine . Plus size model keep doing your thing , maybe one day I will join you on the runway !

  12. LaCara October 26, 2007 at 5:30 pm #

I am also a curvy girl..and I used to hate myself and my body, I was taunted continuously..and one day I woke up and realised yes I do not look like every other girl, but this is me, I can’t change how I look at the moment, but I know and feel beautiful. And I definitely think we need more curvaceous models down the run way!! I think curvaceous women should embrace who they are and be proud…if you got it flaunt it!!

I’m a UK size 14 and I’ve just recently become comfortable in my own skin as a curvy girl. I do admit, I didn’t like myself and had always wanted to have a skinny body, but thick legs, thick hips and a big booty to match can never be a bad thing 🙂

Quit trying to be PC by saying fat is beautiful. It’s not. It’s fat…

  20. Amayel's Notes March 27, 2008 at 3:55 pm #

It’s not a matter of trying to be PC. It’s just that skinny is UGLY, to me at least. There is some out there for all tastes. But fashion magazines, anorexic models look unnatural and will try to make you think otherwise!

As long as it’s healthy curves, I’m all for it.

  23. louise keyne April 15, 2008 at 7:06 pm #

my name is louise and i am english, for a long time iv wanted to become a plus size model but i did nt know how to go about becoming one. there are not that many in england because the fuller figure is not really celebrated becuase england is still in kate moss mode. being 18 also makes it hard because i havent seen plus size models for teens. i want to show other girls its ok to have curves and not be ashamed. it sickens me as young girls grow up there being told that there not good enough and to be better they must make them selves sick or go under the knife, willing to die to become somthing unreal when in truth there fine just the way they are. becoming a plus size model i can also be a role model aswel

  26. Karla July 10, 2008 at 5:52 pm #

Im a size 14-16 and im only 15 years old. My mum keeps trying to spur me on to lose weight but she doesnt understand that i am truly happy in my own skin.
She thinks that deep down i want to lose weight but i dont. Im happy with myself i will gladly walk down the beach in a bikini and show of my curves!!
Even though i dont get boys interested in me because of my size, they dont know what their missing!!!!
My friend thinks that size 0 models are amazing… look what overly skinny celebs and models are doing to society!!

Please e-mail me with any information on where i can buy clothing that suits my size.
    Thank you!!

SHOULD BE ABLE TO KEEP HER WEIGHT AT THE SIZE 10 EURO MARK IF SHE KEPT IN BETTER SHAPE. AFTER SEEING HER IN A WHITE SWIMSUIT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO SHE NEEDS TO BE CAREFUL HER PUPPY FAT DOES NOT EFFECT HER HEALTH.

these all are cristian callgirl spreading Aids by prostitution

  31. Taylor December 5, 2008 at 7:36 pm #

I believe these women are beautiful and its about time that the fashion industry and the media realize beauty comes in all different shapes and sizes.

  32. Helga January 28, 2009 at 1:33 pm #

Mind that none of them are fat (looks like to some people curvy=fat, which is totally not true). They’re a good example of what a beautiful ADULT woman can look like.
At 16, however, size 14-16 is a bit too much… size 8-10 would be OK for that age.
I personally believe that a beautiful body is a healthy body. A healthy person is neither fat nor emaciated. And yes, there’s a difference between “naturally very thin” and “anorectic” (I mean to say here that establishing a “more realistic body image” must not end up in making petite women feel ashamed of their bodies).

I would like to know more about your site and more about fulfigured clothing and how I can go about buying them but not have them be so exspensive.

I would like to have more information on how to become a plus size model. I am 36 yr old and size 18.

    Love your website,

  36. Matthew September 25, 2009 at 8:46 pm #

I’ve never had a girlfriend less than a size 14…and that is through choice. I honestly find it sexy for a woman to be 14-16 dress size. In fact extremely skinny women almost make me feel physically ill….especially when you see bones (think Posh Spice). All women should have curves and a little pot belly…it is SO damn hot.
